Selome Hailu Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has set two new unscripted series at Netflix via her Archewell Productions banner, which is under an overall deal at the streamer. The first series will be curated by the Duchess, aka Meghan Markle, and will “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship” per an official description.

Valerie Wu Intern Reality dance competition series “So You Think You Can Dance” has been renewed for Season 18 at Fox. The show will return on March 4, 2024 with an all-new documentary style format along with new judges Alison Holker and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Holker was formerly a contestant on the series, and was married to the late Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who was himself a contestant and judge on the series.

So You Think You Can Dance has been officially renewed for Season 18 on Fox and it’s returning with a new set of judges.

The CW revealed three more unscripted series after presenting its fall schedule.

Mumbai’s matchmaker Sima Taparia returns to help single millennials around the world find love, employing decades-worth of experience and traditional methods. This season, Sima’s matchmaking touch will reach from New York to New Delhi, Miami to London, as well as clients both old and new.  “Indian Matchmaking” premiered its first season in July 2020. Eli Holzman, Sony’s President of Nonfiction Entertainment and co-president Aaron Saidman have revealed Gena McCarthy’s Unconventional Entertainment has signed an overall deal with SPT. As part of the agreement, Unconventional will develop, sell, and produce original formats in core genres including relationships, home, food, survival, Americana, competition, and crime, with SPT providing all associated production services. Known for her extensive resume which includes several long-running franchises like “Married at First Sight” and “Project Runway,” McCarthy has held senior positions at Discovery, TLC, We TV, Lifetime, and FYI.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterLeah Remini is joining the judging panel for the Fox competition series “So You Think You Can Dance.”Remini’s addition to the show comes after “Glee” alum Matthew Morrison exited the judging panel after he failed to follow “competition production protocols.” According to a report from People, Morrison was fired after he sent private messages on social media to a female contestant. Morrison subsequently took to Instagram to deny any inappropriate conduct on his part.Remini joins the judging panel that now consists of herself, Stephen “tWitch” Boss and JoJo Siwa.

Ellise Shafer Matthew Morrison will no longer be a “So You Think You Can Dance” judge after he failed to follow “competition production protocols,” Variety has confirmed.The former “Glee” star announced his departure from the Fox dance competition show, which premiered on May 18, in a statement on Friday.“Having the opportunity to be a judge on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ was an incredible honor for me. Therefore, it is my deepest regret to inform you that I will be leaving the show.

It was a short run on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance for Matthew Morrison. The Glee alum, who was just announced in April as a new judge on the hit dance competition series along with JoJo Siwa, is exiting the show after failing to follow production protocols. The news comes a week after the series’ Season 17 premiere.

“So You Think You Can Dance” is from Industrial Media’s 19 Entertainment and MRC. The series  is executive-produced by co-creator Nigel Lythgoe, Jeff Thacker, Rosie Seitchik, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman on behalf of 19 Entertainment. Seitchik also will serve as showrunner. The long-delayed season will debut on Wednesday, May 18 9:00-10:00 p.m.

So You Think You Can Dance has found its new judging lineup.

Netflix is stepping up its game when it comes to affairs of the heart by ordering more Love is Blind and Indian Matchmaking. It also has three new dating shows in the works to complement an already packed romance slate for 2022 and beyond.

Sony Pictures Television is expanding its unscripted footprint in a big way. The TV studio has signed an agreement to acquire independent nonfiction production company Industrial Media whose portfolio includes such series as American idol, 90 Day Fiancé, Indian Matchmaking, Selena+Chef and So You Think You Can Dance. Upon closing, Sony Pictures will acquire a majority controlling interest in Industrial Media based on a purchase price which values the company at $350M. Sony’s stake is believed to be close to 100%, valuing the deal at more than $300M. (The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.)
