Somehow, against all odds, there’s a market for a third “My Big Fat Greek Wedding Film.” That’s right, Nia Vardalos brings the family back together for “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” this September. Charna Flam Focus Features has released the first official trailer for “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3,” offering a look at the latest Portokalos party. Star Nia Vardalos returns as the screenwriter for the third film and, for the first time, serves as the latest entry’s director. Vardalos will lead the film alongside her former and returning co-stars John Corbett, Louis Mandylor, Elena Kampouris, Maria Vacratsis, Andrea Martin, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone and Lainie Kazan. A couple of new faces have joined the cast, including Elias Kacavas and Melina Kotselou. After Michael Constantine, who played Toula’s father Gus, died in 2021, the third film will pay tribute to the late actor.

Audiences at CinemaCon were treated to the first-ever trailer for “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3,” the latest chapter in the romantic comedy series about culture clashes, true love, bundt cakes and the many, many uses for Windex. The third entry picks up years after the original and follows the Portokalos family as they reunite a hop, skip and a jump away from their hometown of Chicago. “A lot has happened since my big fat Greek wedding,” Nia Vardalos’ character says in a voice over. “My father passed away, and his last wish was for us to visit his childhood village in Greece and reconnect with our roots. So, we’re having a reunion.”

Not every horror film needs to be produced by A24 or made by Jordan Peele to be of elevated quality. There are more grindhouse offerings like “Terrifier 2” that skip arthouse sensibilities and still deliver a heaping helping of blood, guts, and frights.

Focus Features has set a September 8 global release date for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. That will give some breadth to the post-Labor Day box office and an option for older female moviegoers, that weekend already having New Line’s The Nun 2 on the schedule.

“My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” will hit theaters worldwide on Sept. 8, 2023, distributor Focus Features announced Friday.The highly anticipated third film in the “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” franchise was written and directed by its star Nia Vardalos.

Angelique Jackson It’ll be a fall family reunion for the “My Big Fat Greek Weeding” clan, with Focus Features dating the third film in the franchise for a worldwide theatrical release on Sept. 8, 2023. Nia Vardalos wrote and directed the new film, starring alongside returning cast members John Corbett, Louis Mandylor, Elena Kampouris, Maria Vacratsis, Andrea Martin, Elias Kacavas, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone and Lainie Kazan. Elias Kacavas and Melina Kotselou join the family this time around. Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Gary Goetzman — who’ve produced all three movies — also return, with Paul Brooks, Scott Niemeyer and Steven Shareshian serving as executive producers.

EXCLUSIVE: Kurt Wimmer’s redo of Stephen King’s Children of the Corn has been picked up by RLJE Films and AMC network’s horror streaming service Shudder. The movie will hit theaters on March 3 in an 18 day theatrical window before hitting demand and digital on March 21.

The Smiths has confirmed release plans.Shoplifters of the World, an upcoming film inspired by true events, focuses on four friends in the 1980s who are devastated about the sudden split of the band.Plot-wise, the story will take place over one night as four friends intersect with a local radio station which is hijacked by a Smiths fan.The film is set to star Joe Manganiello, Ellar Coltrane, Helena Howard and Elena Kampouris.
