Pamela Anderson has signed on to star opposite Liam Neeson in a new “Naked Gun” movie, expected to release July 18, 2025.Neeson, 71, has been cast as the clueless police detective Frank Drebin with Anderson, 56, slated to play his love interest. The Post has reached out to both Neeson and Anderson for comment.The original film, written and directed by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker, was based on the short-lived series “Police Squad,” which aired for six episodes in the 1980s. Leslie Nielsen, who died at the age of 84, originated the role of Drebin while starring opposite Priscilla Presley.

Liam Neeson is in talks to star in an upcoming “The Naked Gun” reboot directed by Lonely Island musician, comedian and filmmaker Akiva Schaffer, according to Deadline. The original “Naked Gun” movie was released in 1988 starring the late comedian Leslie Nielsen as the clueless Detective Frank Drebin and went on to become a worldwide success spawning two more movies.

Naked Gun, according to reports.The actor, who has previously expressed an interest in a revival of the action-comedy film franchise, is said to be in talks with producer Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) and The Lonely Island member Akiva Schaffer, who is set to direct the reboot.According to Deadline, Schaffer will direct and executive-produce the project from a script by writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, who he collaborated with on animated comedy Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. The Disney+ film won an Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie earlier this year.While plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s claimed Neeson might be playing the son of detective Frank Drebin, instead of stepping into the role made famous by Leslie Nielsen.MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are said to be producing the reboot through their company, Fuzzy Door.In February this year, Neeson said he’d been approached by MacFarlane to lead a Naked Gun reboot, although the project wasn’t officially announced.Speaking on People (the TV Show!), Neeson said: “I’ve been approached by Seth MacFarlane and Paramount Studios to maybe resurrect the Naked Gun films.“It’ll either finish my career or bring it in another direction,” he joked.

Directed by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island, the film is a live-action/animation hybrid that follows Chip and Dale as middle-aged chipmunk actors. Chip is an insurance salesman, and Dale spends his time at fan conventions. Washed up has-beens living in L.A., Chip and Dale must now get the team back together to find a missing friend.

Why?” But they were insistent and they said, “Well, really just come in with anything.”For us, we really started asking ourselves, “Okay, why would we do this? Why should this movie exist? Why do we do all these reboots in the first place?” We started to ask a lot more about the larger culture of this endless stream of reboots and toxic nostalgia and what we are all getting out of constantly reliving our past.

And was “Chip ‘n Dale” even that beloved enough to warrant a reboot? The answers are yes and no, but the minds behind this movie know that and aren’t pretending otherwise.

It’s one and done for Netflix’s Pretty Smart. The multi-camera comedy series from Jack Dolgen, Doug Mand and Kourtney Kang will not return for a second season, we have confirmed. Pretty Smart starred Emily Osment as Chelsea a high-brow, Harvard-educated intellectual and aspiring novelist — who after getting unexpectedly dumped by her boyfriend was forced to move in with her bubbly, carefree, not-so-intellectual West Coast sister, Claire (Olivia Macklin), and her three lovably eccentric, not-so-intellectual roommates: Grant (Gregg Sulkin), a distractingly handsome personal trainer, Solana (Cinthya Carmon), a former lawyer turned healer, and Jayden (Michael Hsu Rosen), a social media influencer. But Chelsea’s tough, sometimes judgemental exterior started to soften as she got to know her new friends, and they began to form an unlikely found family.

Not even Peter Pan can beat ageing in the end.
