Michael Schneider Variety Editor at LargeFormer “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett’s directing debut has finally found a home: BET+ has picked up “B-Boy Blues,” which will debut on the streamer on June 9 in time for Pride Month. As part of the pickup, Mona Scott-Young and her Monami Entertainment has joined the film as a producer and was instrumental in getting the deal done with BET+.“B-Boy Blues” reps the first project for Smollett since being found guilty of making false reports about what he alleged to be a hate crime.

EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Augustin (David Makes Man), Nazanin Mandi (Twenties) and Mike Merrell (All American) have joined the cast of AllBlk’s upcoming dating dramedy À La Carte. The series, which hails from Breanna Hogan and executive producers Dijon Talton and Meagan Good, has also added Juan Gil (A Second Thought) and Xavier Avila (Pretty Dudes). The newly-added cast members join stars Pauline Dyer, Jessie Woo, Kendall Kyndall, Jenna Nolen and Courtney Burrell.

EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Augustin (David Makes Man) has been tapped for a recurring role in How I Met Your Father, Hulu’s straight-to-series spinoff of the long-running CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother. He replaces former God Friended Me star Brandon Micheal Hall, who had been original cast in the role but had to exit due to a scheduling conflict when the filming dates for the series shifted.

EXCLUSIVE: Newcomer Ainsley Seiger has been cast as a series regular opposite Christopher Meloni, Dylan McDermott, Tamara Taylor and Danielle Moné Truitt, in Law & Order: Organized Crime, and Charlotte Sullivan (Rookie Blue), Nick Creegan (David Makes Man), Ben Chase (The Last Thing He Wanted) and Jaylin Fletcher (Snowpiercer) are set to recur in NBC’s SVU spinoff series.
