Tia Mowry, 41, is one of the many celebrities who has shared personal stories about racial injustice after the passing of George Floyd. The celebrated actress shared a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, June 4, that spoke about what her mother Darlene Mowry had to deal with because she is black compared to her father Timothy Mowry, who is white. “It was very clear to me seeing the #privilege that my dad had as opposed to my #mother,” she began.

In the light of the Black Lives Matter protests, Tia Mowry opened up about her own experience growing up as a biracial person. The star took to her social media page of choice to share a pic featuring both she and her twin Tamera Mowry alongside their mother, Darlene Mowry on the red carpet.

Tia Mowry is opening up about growing up biracial. Taking to Instagram with a picture of her and twin Tamera Mowry posing on the red carpet with their mother Darlene Mowry, the Sister, Sister star reflected on the "privilege" she had witnessed her father Timothy Mowry experience in comparison to her mom.  "Growing up #biracial, mom is black and dad is white, it was very clear to me seeing the #privilege that my dad had as opposed to my #mother," she wrote.
