Chris Albrecht‘s time at Legendary Television is just about over.

Legendary Television boss Chris Albrecht has been placed on administrative leave, individuals with knowledge of the matter confirmed to TheWrap.No reason has been given for why the company took this action, nor has Legendary released a statement on the matter. However, the leave comes after news that an upcoming book about the history of HBO includes an allegation that Albrecht physically assaulted another HBO executive early during his tenure at the cable channel.According to the book “It’s Not TV: The Spectacular Rise, Revolution and Future of HBO,” written by  Felix Gillette and John Koblin, in 1991, Albrecht tried to strangle Sasha Emerson, a former HBO executive with whom he’d had an affair.

Legendary Television is adding Netflix executive Jennifer Breslow to its team. The independent studio has hired Breslow as executive vp television and digital media, reporting to head of Legendary TV Chris Albrecht.

Legendary Global and Spain-based ESPotlight are partnering to develop and produce around 10 series annually for Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide, initially with the COVID-19 dramedy La Trientena.

Less than a year after he stepped down from his longtime position as CEO of Starz, veteran media executive Chris Albrecht has put his practically brand-new, A-list-worthy estate on L.A.’s Westside up for sale. Albrecht and his third wife Tina Trahan bought the property in late 2017 for $16 million, while it was still under construction, and the now-complete compound is available for a hefty — but perhaps not wholly unreasonable — $18 million.
