It's almost been a week since Neighbours fans were forced to say an emotional goodbye to the soap after 37 years on-screen. The Australian favourite was taken off air last Friday (July 29) following a special finale episode which was full of familiar faces returning to Ramsay Street for one last time.

Neighbours fans can officially get excited as some more soap favourites will officially be returning to the revived show, set to premiere later this year. Fans of the long-running Aussie soap were left devastated when it was announced in February 2022 that Neighbours was coming to an end after a 37-year run, with a tear-jerking final episode aired on Channel 5 later that year.

Manori Ravindran Executive Editor of International Ramsay Street is gearing up to welcome a few more familiar faces. Seven long-time characters are joining Amazon Freevee’s continuation of Australian soap “Neighbours.” The new additions include Annie Jones (as Jane Harris), Rebekah Elmaloglou (as Terese Willis), Georgie Stone (as Mackenzie Hargreaves) and Tim Kano (as Leo Tanaka). All cast members will return as series regulars. Meanwhile, those returning in guest roles are Ian Smith (as Harold Bishop), April Rose Pengilly (as Chloe Brennan) and Melissa Bell (as Lucy Robinson). They will be joined by “Neighbours” stalwarts Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney and Jackie Woodburne, who were previously announced.

Neighbours has inducted Dipi Rebecchi star Sharon Johal's real-life husband into the soap as a body double, hiring him to perform kissing scenes with the actress.The soap has confirmed that a new storyline will see Dipi and Pierce Greyson (Tim Robards) embarking on a shock affair as both of their marriages struggle.

Neighbours star April Rose Pengilly has spoken to about Chloe Brennan's pregnancy storyline, revealing that her character is "really shocked" to discover the news.Next week's episodes see Chloe learn that she's expecting a baby, leaving her with some big decisions to make due to her medical situation.Viewers know that Chloe has the Huntington's gene and has a 50% chance of passing it onto any children she has.

Russell Brand is set to make an appearance in Australian soap Neighbours, according to one of the stars of the show.
