EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures and Picturestart won an auction and will pay mid-six against high six-figures for Yeti, a Peter Gaffney spec script that will be produced by Jon Silk through his first look deal at Picturestart.

EXCLUSIVE: Following the acclaim of the comedy Dumb Money, director Craig Gillespie and Sony Pictures are reteaming on another film in where money plays a factor in the central story. In a competitive situation, Sony has acquired Daniel Casey’s untitled heist spec screenplay, with Gillespie set to direct and Plan B producing.

Ice Cube has confirmed that he exited Oh Hell No, a Sony comedy in which he would have starred opposite Jack Black, after refusing to comply with a requirement that he be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Jack Black is in talks to star with Ice Cube in Sony Pictures’ comedy Oh Hell No, to be directed by cutting-edge comedy director Kitao Sakurai. Matt Tolmach is producing through Matt Tolmach Productions with Black and Roz Music.

Andrew Koji round out the rest of the cast.David Leitch is set to direct the project. Zak Olkewicz wrote the script for the film, which is based on the Japanese novel “Maria Beetle” by Kotaro Isaka.
