Season 7 will consist of 12 episodes and is set to debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on August 11 before making its linear debut August 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime. “‘Billions’ has deftly explored power, money and greed in a way that not only made it a massive hit, but also defined its own genre thanks to the creative brain trust of Brian and David,” said Chris McCarthy, President & CEO of Showtime, MTV Entertainment Studios, and Paramount Media Networks. “This final season is packed full of the incredible, complex dialogue and character dynamics fans have come to love, and we are thrilled to partner with them on turning this hit series into a global franchise.”

For the second time in a week, the Writers Guild of America has shuttered Billions.

For fans of Showtime’s drama Billions, the upcoming Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber may familiar in more ways than one – from the story of a striving entrepreneur looking to shake up their industry, to some of the talent that appears throughout the second. During a TCA panel on Wednesday, executive producers Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Beth Schacter said that they also felt the similarities upon depicting the rise of Uber for Showtime.

It may not technically take place in the same television universe, but Bobby Axelrod from “Billions” could totally guest star on Showtime’s “Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber.” The new show from “Billions” masterminds Brian Koppelman and David Levien, adapted from the book by Mike Isaac, has similar propulsive energy. Once again taking place in the world of big business, it features characters who often thrive in what could politely be called a moral gray area, propelled by sharp, witting writing and captivating performances.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterThe business anthology series “Super Pumped” has been renewed for Season 2 at Showtime.The news was announced as part of the ViacomCBS investor day presentation. Each season of the show will focus on a different major story from the world of business.

With their “Billions” series already a big hit for Showtime, the cable channel is doubling down on creatives and writer/directors Brian Koppelman and David Levien, known as the writers “Ocean’s 13,” “The Girlfriend Experience,” and more. Now they have another new series ready to go called, “Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber,” which as the title suggests, is based on the 2019 nonfiction book of the same name by Mike Isaac, centering on the rise and fall of former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Screenwriters, directors, showrunners, and filmmakers Brian Koppelman and David Levien like to look at the world around them for inspiration. For their Showtime series, “Billions,” they looked at the cutthroat world of finance, hedge fund managers, and the real-life prosecutions of financial crime by federal authorities that have made major headlines worldwide.
