Rumors abound that the third season of Apple TV+’s massive comedy hit “Ted Lasso” will be the last. Given the show won the Emmy for Best Comedy Series in its first two outings, the creators of this game-changing hit could go a perfect 3-for-3, getting out before the show dips in quality or popularity.

Jason Segel’s therapist Jimmy is set to give out some more interesting advice after Apple TV+ renewed comedy-drama series Shrinking for a second season.

“Shrinking” has landed a Season 2 renewal at Apple TV+ well ahead of the first season’s finale, the streamer said Thursday.The dark comedy series, which was co-created by Jason Segel, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, follows Jimmy (Segel), a recently widowed therapist who embraces a bold, somewhat unethical approach by practicing radical honestly with his patients. As he witnesses the breakthroughs he facilitates with his patients, including one who leaves her emotionally abusive husband upon his advice, Jimmy also breaks out of his own grief as he connects with his daughter after the death of her mother.In addition to Segel, Harrison Ford stars as Paul alongside Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie and Luke Tennie.“We have loved the engaging, touching and hilarious world of ‘Shrinking’ since the beginning, and it has been wonderful to watch as audiences around the world continue to connect with these big-hearted characters,” Apple TV+ head of programming Matt Cherniss said.

As Timothée Chalamet recently attested, it’s been a boom time for Apple TV+. In the two years since the height of the pandemic, the streaming service has more than doubled its subscriber count and built a library of content rivaling competitors like Netflix and HBO Max.

In today’s episode of Bingeworthy, our TV and streaming podcast host Mike DeAngelo cries tears of joy for Apple TV+’s new dramedy, “Shrinking.” Created by Bill Lawrence (“Scrubs,” “Ted Lasso”), Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso,” “Thor: Love and Thunder”), and Jason Segel (“Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “How I Met Your Mother”), the show follows Jimmy (Segel), a therapist who has gone off the deep end after the death of his wife.

One can only imagine the blank check that Bill Lawrence has from Apple TV+ after the massive success of his “Ted Lasso,” which he co-created and has won the company dozens of awards, putting them on the TV map. He used that cachet for this week’s likable dramedy “Shrinking,” a show that almost brazenly sets up character archetypes and then asks its cast to push through the clichés of their shallow descriptions.

Ted Lasso fans have a little bit more to wait for the big Season 3 premiere this spring. So in the meantime, Apple is teasing what’s ahead in a first-look photo (below) showing the titular character (Jason Sudeikis) face-to-face with Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed) who looks to still have his feet planted on the dark side.

Apple TV+’s upcoming comedy series “Shrinking,” created by Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Jason Segel, will see Harrison Ford’s first major television series role, starring opposite Jason Segel, who plays a grief-stricken therapist speaking his mind to his patients.

Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) and Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live) are the newest additions to the cast of the animated Garfield film in the works from Alcon Entertainment. The actors join an ensemble led by Chris Pratt which also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Hannah Waddingham, Cecily Strong and Ving Rhames, as previously announced.

Hannah Waddingham loves to don “beautiful things”. The ‘Ted Lasso’ star adores wearing revealing gowns by big name designer brands such as Herve Leger and Elie Saab but attributes looking good in them to "hard-to-breathe" in control knickers. The 48-year-old actress told InStyle magazine: "Obviously I like to wear beautiful things, but first of all, there's a lot of Spanx — like hard-to-breathe Spanx — and second of all, I like [body-con] stuff because I have to wear those looks for quite a while, and with Herve [Leger], there isn't any boning! Jason Sudeikis was honored for his humor at the 2022 Emmys when he walked away with the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on, but there are two critics who don't think he's all that funny. The 46-year-old actor spoke to reporters backstage and shared what his and ex Olivia Wilde's 8-year-old son, Otis, and 5-year-old daughter, Daisy, think of his work.When asked if his kids think he's as funny as the rest of the world, Sudeikis turned to his castmates and asked, «Does anyone's kids think they're as funny?» Laughing, they all collectively agreed their children don't find them as humorous as the fans. «No, I don't know, they have a lot of notes, and it's mostly about structure» Sudeikis quipped.

Succession, Ted Lasso and The White Lotus were the victors in their respective drama, comedy and limited categories at this year’s Emmy Awards. In total, the trio bagged 12 awards at Monday’s ceremony, including the big prize in their respective fields.

On paper, there were no major surprises at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards as all the winners were either considered clear front-runners or runners-up on most prediction lists. Still, the dominant showing for Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso probably qualifies as a surprise.

The future of Ted Lasso beyond season 3 has become a big source of speculation — at least among TV reporters. But Jason Sudeikis is not ready to say if they’re coming back for another year, no matter how happy he is that his Apple TV show just won another Emmy for Outstanding Comedy.

For the second year in a row, Apple’s hit series Ted Lasso has taken top honors at the Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy series for the show’s sophomore season.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter HBO roared back to the top of the Emmy Awards, with the premium cabler and its streaming counterpart, HBO Max, topping the total awards haul for 2022. HBO/HBO Max picked up 38 Emmys in total, doubling their 19 wins in 2021. HBO took home multiple awards in the limited series category thanks to “The White Lotus'” 10 wins, with Mike White winning for both best writing and directing. Those wins were coupled with “The White Lotus” stars Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett’s wins for best supporting actress and actor in a limited series. To close out the night, “The White Lotus” ultimately won best limited series while “Succession” won best drama series.
