Bartees Strange is the latest to drop a single exclusively on Amazon Music, putting his blues-imbued folk spin on Freddie Gibbs’ ScHoolboy Q-assisted single ‘Gang Signs’.For his new take on the song, the Ipswich, England-born, Oklahoma-raised indie-rocker locks into the feel of the original track’s gentle, groove-driven instrumental. He reappropriates the melody with crisp and roomy electric guitars, noodling away while he emulates Gibbs’ biting swagger with his rapped verses.In a Tweet shared upon the track’s release, Strange said he “loved covering this song by two of the hardest”.

Phoebe Bridgers, Caroline Polachek and yeule are among the contributors for their upcoming horror film, I Saw The TV Glow.Other artists to feature on the soundtrack include L’Rain, Bartees Strange, The Weather Station, Jay Som, Maria BC and Florist.Directed by Jane Schoenbrun, I Saw The TV Glow follows the story of two teenagers who bond over a supernatural TV show which mysteriously gets cancelled as they start to lose their grip on reality.A synopsis of the film reads: “Teenager Owen is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.”Bridgers also appears in the movie alongside Snail Mail’s Lindsey Jordan and Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst.The soundtrack will be released on May 10, following the film’s release.

Boygenius have announced details of a full headline tour of North America for 2023 – see the full list of dates below and buy tickets here.The indie trio – comprised of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus – will release their debut album ‘The Record’ on Friday (March 31) and head out on tour later this year.After the band surprised fans with an unexpected performance at Austin Airport during SXSW, they have now revealed tour dates beginning in early June and running through until August.Dates on the tour begin with shows as part of the Re:Set concert series in June, with support from Clairo, Bartees Strange and Dijon.Strange will also support at a handful of the other tour dates, with other acts playing with Boygenius including Carly Rae Jepsen and Broken Social Scene.The tour begins with two Coachella gigs and a warm-up show in Pomona, California, before beginning in earnest in June.Presale tickets for the new gigs go on sale at 10am local time on March 29 here with the code ‘NOTSTRONG’.

The National appear to be on the precipice of a new single release, as posters for a song titled ‘Weird Goodbyes’ (featuring Bon Iver) have begun to circulate.The band have been performing ‘Weird Goodbyes’ live, sans the guest spot from Bon Iver – which, presumably, will comprise some of its lyrics being sung by Justin Vernon – since late May.
