, which is already back in production on season 4, is adding Jeffrey Dean Morgan to the cast. The hit Prime Video series about corrupt superheroes will reunite the actor with executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke, after he first worked with the creator on.  While details about his role haven’t been revealed, Morgan took to Twitter to share his excitement.

Prime Video’s “The Boys” franchise, a satirical and deconstructivist look at superheroes, just keeps going and going. There’s the spinoff series, “Gen V,” which season four of “The Boys” picks up from, and there’s also a new Mexico-set version of the series coming from Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal, both of whom will guest star on that spinoff.

If one were paying close attention to the recent career of actor Jake Gyllenhaal one might think he was on a mad quest to a) become a buff action star thriller and b) elevate the careers of mid/middling directors. The last three live-action Gyllenhaal movies –“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “The Guilty,” and “Ambulance”—have all seemed like an attempt to subvert his narrative as arthouse darling, and the latter two were the best films of those director’s careers in quite some time (Antoine Fuqua and Michael Bay, respectively).

This season, the Boys are really cutting loose.

EXCLUSIVE: Frances Turner (The Man In The High Castle), Kristin Booth (The Hot Zone: Anthrax) and Jack Doolan (Marcella) are set to join Season 3 of The Boys in recurring roles. They will appear opposite series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Anthony Starr and more.
