Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer For the holidays, you can’t beat home sweet home — and that’s exactly where Chip and Joanna Gaines‘ Magnolia Network is taking you with its new seasonal special, “Holiday Party With Andrew and Zoë.” Premiering Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Magnolia Network, and streaming same-day on Max and Discovery+, this hour-long even is hosted by Magnolia Network staples “Family Dinner” star Andrew Zimmern and Zoë François of “Zoë Bakes” as they throw a mashup Christmas/Hanukkah party for mutual friends in their hometown, Minneapolis.

Would the servers use an algorithm to ask, “Since you liked grilled cheese, can we suggest broccoli?” Would you be allowed to share food with your friends or would it be forbidden, like Netflix password-sharing? But at the preview night Tuesday for Netflix Bites at Short Stories Hotel on Fairfax, it was clear that the seriously delicious menu for the three-month pop-up, inspired by the streamer’s food programming, was no laughing matter. Imaginative cocktails from mixologists, like “Drink Masters” contestant Kate Gerwin,got guests in the mood with concoctions like the Oaxacan on Top of the World, while Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos mingled with the chefs. Netflix’s VP of Live Experiences Greg Lombardo welcomed guests, explaining, “We’re always focused on bringing our fans closer to the stories that they love. Netflix Bites affords us a unique opportunity to bridge food and entertainment in this incredible unique way.”

The dining experience will spotlight chefs from Netflix’s beloved culinary shows including “Chef’s Table,” “Is It Cake?” and “Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend.” For the first time, attendees will be able to get a taste of their favorite Netflix series. Charna Flam Chef Andrew Zimmern’s Intuitive Content announced a co-production deal with branded production house HotDish Productions, to develop long-form branded content. Intuitive Content president Patrick Weiland and HotDish’s co-founders Amy Currie and Joshua Stenseth announced the partnership this week. “We’re whipping up a recipe that fuses our expertise in documentary-style filmmaking with HotDish’s specialization in branded capabilities,” said Weiland in a statement. “We’ve worked with brands like Marriott and Rémy Cointreau on branded content projects in the past, and we see our partnership with HotDish helping us to really expand our storytelling in the marketplace”.
