Ed Meza @edmezavar Amanda Plummer of “Pulp Fiction” and “Star Trek: Picard” fame and veteran thesps James Russo and Ulrich Thompson (“The Celebration”) have joined Uwe Bolls’s forthcoming migrant crisis thriller “Run.” Set to start shooting in Croatia on April 17, the film focuses on a group of desperate migrants as they reach the Italian coast after a perilous journey across the Mediterranean Sea and the impact of their arrival on locals and tourists. The film boasts a large ensemble cast that also includes Marcus Henderson (“Get Out”), BAFTA-winning actor Barkhad Abdi (“Captain Philipps”) and Costas Mandylor (the “Saw” franchise).
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will open the 15th annual TCM Classic Film Festival on Thursday, April 18 with a 35mm screening of the classic neo-noir Pulp Fiction (1994). Two-time Academy Award nominee John Travolta will attend to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film.
Quentin Tarantino’s original cast list for Pulp Fiction has resurfaced online, with both John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson billed as second options.In the 1994 film, Travolta and Jackson played Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield respectively, alongside supporting cast members Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer.While many of Tarantino’s first picks ended up in the film (including Roth, Plummer, Keitel, Ving Rhames and Christopher Walken), some have different first options.

The spin-off first found the character deeply affected by the death of Data and the destruction of the planet Romulus.“Retired from Starfleet and living on his family’s vineyard, Picard is drawn into a new adventure when he is visited by an apparent daughter of Data, one of several new synthetic beings, or ‘synths’,” reads a synopsis.The second season then reunited Picard with The Next Generation’s Q (John de Lancie) and Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg) before they journeyed back to the year 2024 to adjust the timeline. Season three sees the return of more iconic Star Trek: The Next Generation actors with Michael Dorn as Worf, Gates McFadden as Dr.
“Star Trek: Picard” premiered at New York Comic-Con ahead of its release on Paramount+ this coming February. The entire “TNG” cast was on-hand at NYCC to present the teaser, including Patrick Stewart, Gates McFadden, Jonathan Frakes, Mariana Sirtis, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn and Brent Spiner. The final season will see the Enterprise-D crew, along with “Star Trek: Voyager” alum Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) take on enemies from their past.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer A new trailer for the third and final season of Paramount+’s “Star Trek: Picard” launched out of New York Comic Con Saturday, revealing new additions to the Patrick Stewart-led show’s cast — including the return of some iconic villains from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Per Paramount+, Brent Spiner will be back on “Picard,” not as Data, but as a character the streamer describes as “named Lore” — evoking one of the most formidable villains in “Next Generation” history: Data’s evil twin brother, Lore, who was defeated and disassembled at the beginning of Season 7 of “Next Gen.” Additionally, Daniel Davis will return as Professor Moriarty from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” the Holodeck personification of a fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to be an enemy for Sherlock Holmes. “Next Gen’s” Moriarty ended up becoming self aware.
