Portishead announce 25th anniversary vinyl and CD reissue of classic ‘Roseland NYC Live’

Portishead are reissuing their classic live album ‘Roseland NYC Live’ on CD and vinyl for its 25th anniversary.‘Roseland NYC Live 25’, a remastered version of the live album recorded in New York City’s Roseland Ballroom on November 1998, will arrive on April 26. It will have an expanded tracklisting to include ‘Undenied’ and ‘Numb’ from the accompanying concert film, as well as the full-length performance of ‘Western Eyes’, a snippet of which played over the credits of the film.Meanwhile, the reissue includes the original versions of ‘Sour Times’ and ‘Roads’, which had been previously substituted on the album release with recordings from other gigs.Portishead’s Adrian Utley, who oversaw the full production of the reissue, said: “I’ve always held the memory of this show which we played before our second album was released.

Suede‘s Brett Anderson has released a cover of the Echo & the Bunnymen’s classic ‘The Killing Moon’ as part of a new project.Anderson has worked with Paraorchestra and their founder and artistic director Charles Hazlewood on ‘The Death Songbook’, a collaborative 12-track album featuring original compositions and “re-imagining iconic songs exploring love, loss and transcendence” by artists including Depeche Mode, Suede and Japan. Sorry have announced details of their second album, ‘Anywhere But Here’ – watch the video for new song ‘Let The Lights On’ and read our interview with vocalist Asha Lorenz below.The new album follows the band’s 2020 debut ‘925’, which NME awarded five-stars upon its release in 2020, and saw them work with producer Ali Chant and Portishead’s Adrian Utley in Bristol. Lorenz said enlisting Chant and Utley for the project was a choice made to add more of a “classic” feel to their genre-meshing sound.“We were at Ali’s studio down in Bristol, and we asked to work with them to get a more classic sound,” she explained.
