EXCLUSIVE: RLJE Films and Shudder have acquired rights for all English-language territories to It’s a Wonderful Knife, a horror film starring Jane Widdop (Yellowjackets), Joel McHale (Community) and Justin Long (Barbarian) that is set to make its world premiere at L.A.’s Beyond Fest October 8th.

Singer-songwriter Charli XCX, who recently took the Coachella stage by storm, has joined the cast of Legendary’s “Faces of Death,” a reimagining of the 1978 horror film from John Alan Schwartz, TheWrap has exclusively learned.She joins a cast that includes “Euphoria” and “Stranger Things” stars Barbie Ferreira and Dacre Montgomery. The film is currently in production in New Orleans.Legendary’s version will be co-written by Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber and directed by Goldhaber.

Legendary has set Barbie Ferreira and Dacre Montgomery to star in “Faces of Death,” a reimagining of the 1978 horror film from John Alan Schwartz.Legendary’s version will be written by Isa Mazzei and directed by Daniel Goldhaber.Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford will produce with Divide/Conquer’s Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath. Rick Benattar will executive produce and Cory Kaplan will co-produce.Filmmakers Mazzei and Goldhaber have crafted a film that brings the shocking fear of the original “Faces of Death” videos into the digital age.“’Faces of Death’ was one of the first viral video tapes, and we are so lucky to be able to use it as a jumping off point for this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online,” Mazzei and Goldhaber said in a statement.Although it was staged and fictional, people thought it was real and it was often rented under the counter by older brothers at video shops.

The film comes from the esteemed horror production company Blumhouse, in close collaboration with horror maestro James Wan, who was notably behind the “Saw,” “Insidious” and “Conjuring” franchises. “M3GAN” stars Allison Williams as Gemma, a toy company roboticist who programs the artificial intelligence doll. Gemma tasks the doll with protecting her grieving niece Cady, played by Violet McGraw, who lost both of her parents in a car crash. While Cady and M3GAN hit it off initially, the doll’s brutal side takes over when Cady gets bullied by an insensitive boy. M3GAN seeks to protect her from physical harm. The trailer is soundtracked by Taylor Swift’s “It’s Nice to Have a Friend.”

Moayed is a breakout star of the HBO juggernaut “Succession,” in which he stars as private equity investor Stewy Hosseini — best frenemy and casual abuser to Jeremy Strong’s Kendall Roy. The part earned Moayed an Emmy nomination this year for outstanding guest actor in a drama series. He also drew acclaim as the weary lawyer of Anna Delvey in the Netflix original “Inventing Anna.” From Blumhouse and Amazon Studios, “House of Spoils” is directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy from their own script, based on an original idea. DeBose plays an ambitious chef who opens her first restaurant — a farm-to-table affair on a remote estate — where she battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor and crushing self doubt. The powerful spirit of the estate’s previous owner, however, threatens to sabotage her at every turn.

Novak.Novak stars in the film as Ben Manalowitz, a successful but conceited radio host from New York who flies to Texas for the funeral of Abilene, a girl he hooked up with a few times, after her family mistakenly believes he was her boyfriend. While in town, Ben is taken under the wing of Abilene’s brother Ty (Boyd Holbrock), who reveals to him that he believes Abilene was murdered, rather than dying from an opioid overdose.Although Ben doesn’t believe Ty’s theory, he agrees to help investigate the murder and produce a podcast about their findings.

Focus Features has dated B.J. Novak’s feature directorial debut, Vengeance, for Friday, July 29.

It will hit the big screen on the same day as Dwayne Johnson’s superhero adventure “Black Adam” from Warner Bros.“The Office” alum B.J. Novak wrote and directed “Vengeance” in his feature debut.

Universal, Blumhouse,  Atomic Monster and Divide/Conquer AI thriller M3GAN, starring Allison Williams, will hit theaters on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023.
