Pep Guardiola has indicated that it may be harder for players to work their way back into the first team in the final months of the season.
Manchester City are approaching the crunch part of their domestic and European campaigns. Should they get the results they want in their three remaining matches before the international break, they will return in April with a Premier League title to fight for as well as a Champions League quarter-final and an FA Cup semi-final.
Guardiola is expected to have a fully fit squad to choose from for the trip to Crystal Palace this weekend, with Phil Foden free of any issues with his foot and Kyle Walker training as normal despite the allegations against him this week. And while the manager will need everyone he has got to juggle the demands of gunning for multiple trophies, he suggested that he will not need to rotate as much as he does earlier in the season.

"Rotation will be important but not like it is in September, October, November," Guardiola said. "The guys who are good and confident will continue to play. This is my feeling now."
City have enjoyed the relative bliss of a full week between matches since their win over Newcastle last Saturday, and after a few days off the players returned to multiple days of training together that has left Guardiola feeling more like a manager again after February was spent almost entirely on the road. The group have maximised their time together in the knowledge that if all goes to plan they likely will not have another week like this where they can go into such details.
