People on PIP moving to new disability payment next year may see other benefits stop

Millions of people across the UK claiming disability benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Social Security Scotland are set for a bumper payment boost this year.

The latest figures from Social Security Scotland show that by the end of October 2022, merely 3,500 people across Scotland were receiving Adult Disability Payment. The new disability benefit is replacing Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for those aged under 65 on April 8, 2013.

The latest statistics from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) show that by the end of October, there were more than three million people across the UK claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP), including 329,334 living in Scotland. The figures also show that nearly half a million people of State Pension age are also in receipt of PIP.
