Penny Lancaster appeared on The Great British Sewing Bee last night (Thursday) and gave viewers an insight into life with Rod Stewart as she made him a personalised gift.
The Loose Women panellist was joined by Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe, EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy and podcaster Rosie Ramsey.
The trio were tasked with creating some Christmas-themed items for the judges to rank at the end of the episode, and Penny, 51, decided to make Rod, 77, a personalised apron.
Host Sara Pascoe followed the star's progress, while judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant closely watched every stitch and hem to declare the winner. "It's shiny, it's quite rock and roll," Penny said to Sara describing her apron.
"Because this will be one of Rod's stocking fillers. He will wear it with pride." As the group set out on their challenge, Penny proudly pointed to her apron and said: "This is going to be personalised for my husband."
However, Penny couldn't help but poke fun at her Christmases with Rod and revealed he's not a big fan of the holiday. "Oh really? Does he like Christmas?" Sara quizzed. "He does not," Penny replied as the host asked: "Does he like to cook?," before Penny said no once again.
When asked what he thought of Penny's creation, Patrick said: "I think they are jolly festive. I mean, I'm not sure about Rod's baubles," the judge said as Penny replied: "I wanted to hear when he was coming." Patrick went on to praise Penny's sewing skills as he admitted the material was "difficult to sew". "This is Ron Stewart's apron, and there is no doubting it," the judge joked as his co-star asked: "What will he wear underneath it?" "Oh, you know what Scots wear under their kilts," Penny quipped.
