Paul Wesley has landed an exciting new role!
The 39-year-old actor, who is best known for starring as Stefan Salvatore on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, will portray the iconic role of Captain James T. Kirk in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Paramount+ has already shared the first photo of Paul in character as Kirk and it appears that he’s sitting on the U.S.S. Enterprise bridge.

Executive producer Alex Kurtzman and showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers in a statement, “Paul is an accomplished actor, an astonishing presence and a welcome key addition to the show. Like all of us, he is a life-long Star Trek fan and we are excited by his interpretation of this iconic role.”
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is “based on the years Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series follows Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock (Ethan Peck) and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.”
Now, it’s confirmed that Kirk is joining the action! The series premieres on Paramount+ on May 5.
