Patrice Evra has warned Erik ten Hag that he will need to make sure potential new Manchester United signings are joining for all the right reasons this summer.
Ten Hag, 52, was officially unveiled as the new United manager at the start of the week and faces the huge task of rebuilding the side in his first transfer window.
The Dutchman will not only need to find the right players to improve his squad this summer, but he will also need to make sure they have the right personality to embrace the work ethic he is looking to implement at the club.

“It’s a tough job, but he will have to make [hard] decisions," Evra told club media. "When he brings one player to the club, [he must make sure] they’re not coming for the money, they’re not coming to become famous, but they are coming here to fight for the badge. That, for me, will be one of his most important things.”
Evra also spoke of the importance Ten Hag's first pre-season tour will have on his settling in process at the club and how crucial it will be to establish a level of trust with his side straight away.
He added: “It is really important because that’s when you can build that relationship. [The players] need to understand his idea.
“I always say that you can be a genius tactically but, when you communicate to your player, if they don’t understand you, you’re going to get nothing from them. It’s really important that you spend time, not just in training, to [get to] know each other.
“Sir Alex Ferguson you can [talk about the] ‘hairdryer’ or whatever, but his door was always open. That’s why I want the players in this pre-season, to be really honest with them, and also Ten Hag.”
