John Hopewell Chief International CorrespondentPart of what it describes as a bold and rapid expansion of its long-form animation department, London-based Oscar winning Passion Pictures has appointed Nicki Cortese as head of development for animated features and series.Cortese joins Pixar veteran David Park, a production manager on “Coco” and animation department manager on “Toy Story 3,” who was himself hired as Passion head of production for long-form animation in 2021, as well as executive producer Debbie Crosscup.Joining Passion ahead of Annecy, Cortese served as head of development for Elisabeth Murdoch’s Locksmith Animation, where she worked on Disney’s “Ron’s Gone Wrong” as well as the just-announced Netflix feature “That Christmas,” based on children’s books by “Four Weddings and a Funeral’s ”Richard Curtis. Cortese had a first-look deal with Brian Robbins’ studio, Awesomeness Films, and, prior to that, oversaw the “Divergent”franchise at Red Wagon.

Adele is such a good egg, isn’t she?The Hello hitmaker took to the stage in Hyde Park on Friday night for her first UK gig in a hot minute and while she was busy being the superstar that she is, she still made sure to look out for her fans. Adele halted the show after noticing that someone in the audience needed assistance, calling for security to take them out of the crowd. Fans hailed the singer for being so caring, pointing out that not only did she call for a steward to rescue the fan, but she walked over so she could see what was going on.
Adele broke down in tears on several occasions as she took to the stage in London’s Hyde Park for a long-awaited gig. The singer, 34, stunned in a black floor-length gown as she took to the stage to perform her hits at American Express present BST Hyde Park in London on Friday. Adele’s hair was swept up in a stylish beehive with a few delicate strands framing her face, and wore statement gold spiked hoop earrings.
