Passengers travelling in and out of Manchester Airport have been left confused this morning after their flights were delayed for hours due to the Queen's funeral.
The Manchester Evening News understands that flights out of and into the city hub were paused between 11.40am and 12.10pm today as a mark of respect for Her Majesty the Queen.
But travellers scheduled to fly during the temporary suspension say they had flights delayed for hours - despite the halt only lasting 30 minutes.

Gigi, who lives in Yorkshire, said her husband was delayed for well over an hour after his captain announced that the flight activities would pause due to the funeral. She received a message from him at 11.27am saying he was about to take off - but he was stuck on the tarmac until 12.55pm.
"It seems longer than it should have been," Gigi said.
Some took to social media to share their frustrations. Robin said they had been sat on the plane at Berlin Airport for two hours because of Manchester's brief closure.
"It's annoying that they surely planned ahead to shut Manc so why we've been stuck in it is a joke," Jade McHardy tweeted in reply.
And Twitter user @nowtherelike wrote: "Sitting waiting on a plane at Manchester airport for 30 minutes because the runway has been closed. It's what she would have wanted".
Flights to and from Heathrow Airport were halted today to ensure they did not disturb the two minutes silence at the end of Queen Elizabeth's funeral.
Manchester Airport said there had been 'no impact' on flight operations other than the planned closure of the aerodrome from 11.40-12.10, which was done 'out of respect'.
