A fundraiser has been launched for an 'amazing' Scots family who lost everything in a horror house fire this week.
Five people were rushed to hospital after the blaze in Stewarton Street, Wishaw, around 7.30pm on Friday January 28.
It is understood all were members of the same family.
Following the tragic incident a fundraising page has been set up for the local family to help them rebuild their lives after their home was destroyed and possessions lost.
Juliette Mullen started the Go Fund Me on Saturday evening and the fundraising target was quadrupled in hours.
So far over £4,000 has been raised to support the family as donations continue to pile in.
A statement on the page said: "The family haven't asked for this but on Friday 28th January just after 730pm, their family home in Stewarton Street, Wishaw at Dimsdale was destroyed in a house fire.
"Joanne is an amazing mum of 6, daughter, sister, school teacher, friend, colleague and family member.
"This family do so much for charity, for community and for others, I believe it's important to give back in their time of need.
"Obviously all the family are helping as best they can. And lots of people are offering. It can be difficult to know in traumatic situations where to start.
"All their things are destroyed and the family are in hospital recovering. They need to start again.
"Everyone has been sending messages of support and asking how they can help. They are so grateful and overwhelmed at the love and comments they have received.
"If anyone would like to help in any way they can, this is a forum to do that, leave a comment or leave a donation.
"The money raised will go direct to this family."
