Outlander fans in Scotland are in for a treat this summer after it was confirmed that author and creator Diana Gabaldon would be speaking at a special event in the capital.

Outlander star Sam Heughan has announced a rare treat for homegrown fans.
The Balmacllelan-born actor revealed earlier this year he's set to release his first memoir, Waypoints, much to the delight of followers.
But they'll be even happier to learn the news that the 42-year-old is planning to publicise his book with some special in person appearances, one of which is taking place in Edinburgh.
Sam, who plays Jamie Fraser in the hit Starz series, will also be taking part in an Evening with Sam Heughan in London in the same week.
'Waypoints' will be published by Radar and will follow Sam as he makes his way along the West Highland Way to reflect on the personal waypoints that define him.
On the journey, Sam hikes 100miles from his home to the base of the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis, and “attempts” to climb it.
Fitness fanatic Sam is no stranger to a challenge and is looking forward to sharing this new adventure with his followers.
Announcing the news to his 3.2 million followers in March, Sam wrote: "Ready to come on a journey with me?! So excited that my new biography “Waypoints” is available for preorder NOW!
