Express.co.uk how he plans to spend Christmas with his two children and elderly mother, Elsie, 90.The actor had his two children: Albert, 11 and Esme, 9 with his ex-wife Mischka Eccleston.Express.co.uk caught up with Christopher earlier this month at the Women in Film and TV Awards, as we asked him about his Christmas plans.Planning on a quiet one, Christopher explained: "I am going to see my mum who was 90 this year, she's coming down to London."We will spend time together with my son Albert and my daughter Esme."Christopher has always been close with his mum, with the pair growing a tighter bond after the death of his father in 2012.With his marriage ending in 2016, Christopher suffered a mental breakdown with his mother helping him through it.His doctors told him that there was a severe imbalance in his brain chemistry and he was put on high doses of medication.Christopher even moved back in with his mother after getting out of the psychiatric ward, continuing his recovery while she cared for him.His first UK job from there was to continue his role as Maurice in The A Word, Bowker's BBC drama that centres around a young boy with autism. However, the series means more than that to actor Christopher who credits the show for getting him through his hard times. He told The Sunday Times previously: "I first became ill on The A Word."They saw it and they cared for me."Christopher also admitted that he wrote his book, I Love the Bones Of You for his children: Albert and Esme.He said to the Guardian: "I didn’t want Albert and Esme to ever feel there was anything they couldn’t talk to me about."Not in the way that I felt I couldn’t talk to anybody.
