Those planning a trip to the theatre tonight (May 23) are being urged to set off early so they don’t miss the show. It comes as a football parade through the city could lead to delays for those travelling into the city centre.
Opera House has warned those heading out to see Chicago to plan ahead as a Manchester City football fans are planning an open-top bus parade through the city this evening.
Sharing the message on Facebook, a spokesperson for the Opera House said: “If you are coming to tonight's performance of Chicago at the Opera House, please note that there will be a Homecoming Parade for Manchester City F.C through the city early this evening, so please allow plenty of time for your journey.”

The open-top bus parade will see Pep Guardiola and the squad depart from Exchange Square at approximately 6pm, travelling onto St Mary’s Gate and then south on Deansgate, before finishing at the Beetham Tower where a live stage show will take place with the Champions.
There will be live onstage entertainment from 4.30pm, with players arriving from 7pm, with live music from bands and DJs. There will also be screens throughout Deansgate showing all the action from the stage.
Chicago opens at the Opera House tonight, with less than a dozen tickets left, priced at £32.50 each. The production stars Coronation Street’s Faye Brookes as Roxie Hart and West End star Djalenga Scott as Velma Kelly. Three Degrees singer Sheila Ferguson will play Mamma Morton, a role which was snapped up by Gemma Collins throughout June and July.
