BAFTA has named the five contenders for its Rising Star award this year: Kingsley Ben-Adir, Conrad Khan, Bukky Bakray, Sope Dirisu, and Morfydd Clark.
Nominees were selected by a group of industry jurors including Alicia Vikander, Jo Hartley and Naomi Ackie. The winner will be announced on April 11 at the BAFTA Film Awards ceremony.

Amazon’s One Night in Miami picked up three Academy Award nominations Monday morning, with two of those nods going to actor and singer Leslie Odom Jr. Earning a best supporting actor nomination for his supporting turn as soul legend Sam Cooke, Odom also shares a best original song nomination with Sam Ashworth for the tune "Speak Now" — which makes Odom the first male performer to be nominated for both acting and songwriting.

For his role as legendary singer-songwriter Sam Cooke, the actor earned a nomination for Best Supporting actor as well as one for Best Original Song as the composer and performer of the film’s ending credits track, Speak Now.
