Manchester United fans are pleading with their club to get in early to meet Christopher Nkunku’s reported new release clause.
Any hopes United fans had of landing the RB Leipzig star this summer have ended after he put pen to paper on a new deal. Nkunku has signed a new contract, which will keep him with the Bundesliga club until 2026.
Some fans hope that United could make a move for him next summer, though. According to various reports, a release clause of around €60million has been included in Nkunku’s deal that can be activated in the summer of 2023.

Whether United would choose to pursue a deal for the France international then is up in the air. They are currently targeting Ajax star Antony this summer, while they have already ignored Ralf Rangnick’s suggestion to sign Nkunku already.
On the other hand, United fans are convinced they should go all in for the 24-year-old. Following the announcement of his new deal, supporters have been urging the club not to waste any time ahead of next summer:
Speaking about his new deal, Nkunku told Leipzig’s website : “I’m pleased to continue wearing the RB Leipzig shirt. After our great achievement in winning the DFB-Pokal, it remained clear that my story here isn’t over yet – we want more!
“I was really impressed with the club’s efforts to keep me, so a big thanks goes to those responsible for the trust in me and especially to [Leipzig CEO] Oliver Mintzlaff, with who I was always in close contact.
“RB Leipzig have made a name for themselves on the international stage in recent years and have shown time and again that we can compete for titles. We want to build on that going forward
