Earlier this year DALL-E Mini helped create one of the more surreal viral trends when its AI image-generation tool spawned creations such as R2-D2 being baptized and Snoop Dogg being sued by Snoopy. The simple app generated a range of images from a simple text prompt, giving users an insight into the ways how artificial intelligence can warp reality.
Okay Kaya, aka Kaya Wilkins, used DALL-E's original AI technology to create something a little more beautiful. Her trippy and psychedelic "Inside Of A Plum" video offers a new take on the lyric video, putting the words to a song inspired by ketamine therapy alongside zoomed in, abstract images of things both ordinary and uncanny.
She conjured thousands of images, using an endless list of inputs focused on everything from stained glass to ice cream while frequent collaborator Austin Lee added fonts to bring the lyrics to life. Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor Hulu’s “Rosaline” (streaming Oct. 14) puts a rom-com spin on Shakespeare’s classic love story “Romeo and Juliet.” With that, composers Drum & Lace (Sofia Hultquist and Ian Hultquist) put a similar spin on their musical approach to scoring. The film stars Kaitlyn Deaver as Rosaline, the story’s jilted ex-lover. Drum & Lace integrated traditional instruments of the time, such as harpsichord, lute, wooden flutes, renaissance drums and more, into a score with a pop sensibility. But for the composing duo whose credits include “Dickenson” and “Good Lenny,” scoring comedy was more of a challenge than scoring drama. Sofia Hultquist said, “You have comedic timing to keep very much in mind. For ‘Rosaline,’ we tried to find very strong themes that we could use often so as to build a familiarity with the characters as well as play up the emotional arcs that were happening on-screen.”
Not ready to forgive and forget. Meredith Marks still isn’t over Lisa Barlow‘s hot mic rant from season 2 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City — and no amount of apologies can change her mind.
