Every Dick Wolf-produced NBC show has been renewed by the network! All six shows, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, and Chicago Fire, were renewed on Monday (April 10).

Derek Haas and actors Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney, who is taking an extended leave. Original “Chicago PD” actor Jesse Lee Soffer also left in Season 10, although he returned to direct an episode.

Emily Longeretta Despite the many changes in the One Chicago world, “Chicago Fire,” Chicago P.D.” and “Chicago Med” have all been renewed, NBC announced on Monday. Dick Wolf’s procedurals have been a major staple on NBC since debuting with “Chicago Fire,” a spinoff of “Law & Order: SVU,” in 2012. In the fall, the firefighter drama will air its eleventh season, while “Chicago P.D.” will air Season 11 and “Chicago Med” will air Season 9. All three shows, produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment, stream the next day on Peacock. Over the last year, the One Chicago universe has gone through a great deal of changes, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. “Fire” co-creator and co-showrunner Derek Haas will be exiting at the end of the current season, stepping away from Wolf Entertainment. Additionally on “Fire,” Taylor Kinney is on a temporary leave of absence from the show due to a personal matter. He made his last appearance during the Feb. 22 episode.

On March 29, the actor will make his directorial debut on NBC’s “Chicago Med,” the medical drama that he starred on for eight seasons as Dr. Ethan Choi. He made his final appearance on the ninth episode of Season 8, which aired December 7. Although this is his first time directing, he’s been interested for years. When he landed the show in 2015, a friend gave him a piece of advice he carries with him: “It’s gonna be an amazing experience and a wonderful ride.” “I took that to heart. In Season 2, I started shadowing directors,” Tee tells Variety. So, when he chose to walk away from the show in 2022, he made a request to direct. “It was not necessarily an easy yes. I’m sure there’s a bit of a hesitation. But I think everyone has known that I’ve been wanting to do this. It wasn’t just something new, out of the blue. It’s been something I’ve been working toward. So I asked, ‘If I’m going to come back and do nine episodes, I would love to come back and direct one.'”

Lauren Swickard (“A California Christmas”) and Ali Afshar created “Casa Grande,” which comes from Afshar’s ESX Entertainment shingle. Emily Longeretta Casey is back in Chicago, once again. Jesse Spencer, who left NBC’s “Chicago Fire” in 2021 after 200 episodes, will return for the 18th episode of Season 11, Variety confirms. Details about his storyline are still under wraps. Spencer portrayed Matt Casey on the Dick Wolf drama for the first nine seasons. He left during the the fifth episode of Season 10, as the character moved to Oregon with a three-year commitment to a new job. At the time, he shared that he was walking away from the show since he’d been doing television for 18 years and wanted to take a step back and spend more time with his family. (He previously starred in the Australian soap “Neighbours” and portrayed Dr. Robert Chase on Fox’s “House.”)
