Every week here at Official Charts we compile our fancy list of single, album and home entertainment releases; bringing you the latest music you need to know about. Let's dive into this week's, shall we?
Big singles news this week as Paramore return after a long hiatus with their first new music in five years. This Is Why - the spiky title track from the pop-punk trio's upcoming album of the same name - is a rollicking condemnation of being Extremely Online, and if it sounds a bit like Bloc Party that's because...well...it's supposed to. A very welcome back to Hayley, Taylor and Zac!
Elsewhere this week, we have new cuts from rising alt-pop talent Baby Queen (Lazy, an ode to actually not wanting to do much at all), Tate McRae's star-making turn continues with another polished cut (Uh Oh, produced by htimaker to the stars Louis Bell), KSI (Summer Is Over) and Charlie Puth (Charlie Be Quiet! ahead of his self-titled third album, dropping next week).
Albums-wise, mother of alt-pop Bjork awakens from her long slumber with a typically barmy new body of work. Fossora is the tenth record from the Icelandic auteur, partly inspired by the death of Bjork's mother and written during the midst of COVID.
We also have new LP drops from Kid Cudi (Entergalactic), The Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Cool Down) and ascendant Engiish rapper Shygirl (Nymph).
