The biggest release this week comes from Robbie Williams who issues XXV, a greatest hits retrospective for his solo career, which now spans 25 years. It comes hot on the heels of the announcements that Robbie will be both the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary and the focus of a biopic film Better Man in the vein of Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody, currently filming in Australia and helmed by director Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman).
Other albums released this week include John Legend's eighth studio album Legend, The Amazon's new LP How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me (which became the first album with NFT elements to be approved for chart consideration by the Official Charts Company) and Motomami +, the deluxe and expanded re=issue of Rosalia's shape-shifting third album Motomami.
Singles-wise this week, it's a big return for Lewis Capaldi, who returns after near two years of silence with the up-tempo Forget Me, the first taste of his forthcoming second album.

Teasers for the fourth season of Netflix's You have finally been released along with a number of clues about what's to come. While fans have known for a while that the fourth instalment of the hit show is in the works, Netflix have stayed tight-lipped about release dates and storylines. The streaming giant have now announced that the new series of You will be released in two parts in 2023; the first on 10 February and the second on 10 March.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent After “Midnight in Paris,” Woody Allen will return to the French capital for his 50th movie which he’s described as a “poisonous romantic thriller” with a pair of French stars, Valerie Lemercier (“Aline”) and Niels Schneider (“Love Affair(s))”. The untitled film, the plot of which is being kept under wraps, will start filming next month and will be entirely in French with a budget in the $10-million range. Allen has described the film to be similar to “Match Point,” in that it would be “exciting, dramatic and also very sinister.” Allen sparked headlines earlier this week after Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia ran a story reporting that the New York-based filmmaker had told them he was planning on retiring. Allen’s representative then issued a statement saying that the director had “no intention of retiring.”

Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor A judge has overturned the murder conviction of Adnan Syed — whose case was the focus of the viral “Serial” podcast back in 2014 — and the Baltimore man has been released from prison after serving more than 22 years behind bars. The ruling Monday by Judge Melissa Phinn of Baltimore City Circuit Court vacated Syed’s murder conviction, after she found that prosecutors failed to turn over evidence that could have helped Syed at trial — specifically, evidence that two other suspects may have been involved in committing the crime. “At this time, we will remove the shackles from Mr. Syed,” Judge Phinn said after announcing the decision, according to the New York Times.
the New York Times reports, the highly publicized altercation between the “King Richard” Best Actor winner and comedian Chris Rock has ignited an internal debate at Apple as executives reconsider delaying their release of Smith’s next awards season hopeful: his upcoming Civil War drama, “Emancipation,” for which the studio paid a staggering $120 million to acquire in 2020. Although Apple pushed the film’s release to 2023 in May following Smith’s public fallout, three people involved with the film speaking anonymously with The Times said that Apple staffers have discussed releasing “Emancipation” by the end of this year, within the window of eligibility for awards consideration.
According to Variety, Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial will dramatise events around the legal action that played out over six weeks earlier this year and will follow the “tumultuous relationship” between the pair.
