Thania Garcia Morgan Wallen’s blockbuster “One Thing at a Time” pushed through two major releases from Miley Cyrus and K-pop giants Twice to come out on top of the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive week. After scoring the biggest opening week numbers of 2023 for any album by units earned (501,000), and the fifth-largest streaming week ever (498.28 million streams), “One Thing at a Time” enters another week at No. 1 with the equivalent of 259,000 sales and 21,000 album sales, according to data by Luminate. Notably, the set also collected 308 million on-demand official streams for the second-best streaming week ever for a country album, topping the debut of Wallen’s 2021 album “Dangerous: The Double Album,” which sits at No. 7 on this week’s chart.

Lana Del Rey has released new song "The Grants, the third single from her upcoming ninth studio album, Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd. The track was co-written with Mike Hermosa features backing vocals from Melodye Perry, Pattie Howard, and Shikena Jones who appeared in 20 Feet From Stardom, the 2013 Oscar-winning documentary about the lives of background singers.

The 36-song record, released March 3 via Big Loud/Mercury/Republic Records, opens with the equivalent of 501,000 sales in the U.S. as the largest debut since Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” entered the charts last October with 1.5 million units. Approximately 76% of “One Thing at a Time’s” units come from its massive impact on streaming platforms, according to data by Luminate via Billboard. The super-sized set logged a total of 498.28 million on-demand streams in its first week and became Spotify’s most-streamed country album in a single day by a male artist.

Thania Garcia Warner Records today announced the launch of its first-ever flagship electronic dance music label, Major Recordings. Headed by Sam Mobarek, the label’s first signing is duo the duo Parisi, in partnership with Parlophone’s FFRR imprint. Mobarek will report to Warner Records’ co-chairman/ COO Tom Corson and co-chairman/ CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck. Mobarek has nearly two decades of experience in branding and marketing, most recently running Mob Creative, which she also founded. Prior to Mob, Mobarek led the marketing department at Ultra Music, working with Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Pitbull, and deadmau5; she also ran the pop imprint Lefthook under Sony Music while still a student at New York University’s Stern School of Business, and held posts at live music company SFX (now Lifestyle) as well as Beatport. Larry Jackson left Apple Music in September after seven years as the company’s global creative director, he kept quiet about his next move. But as an industry veteran with a deep rolodex and longstanding relationships with top music stars like Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Drake, his next venture was bound to be a very big one.    On Wednesday, Jackson announced the launch of Gamma, a multi-platform, multi-faceted business that will see him acquiring or joining forces with major artists and brands, with endeavors in music, films, merchandise, fashion, web3 and other areas. The company was cofounded with former Interscope CFO Ike Youssef; backers include Todd Boehly’s Eldridge Industries, Apple and indie film studio A24. The company is said to have $1 billion available in equity and debt.

Travis Scott is reportedly being sought by police for questioning about an alleged altercation that took place at a New York nightclub early Wednesday (March 1).The New York City Police Department responded to the scene at Club Nebula around 3:25am EST, after reports that a man “was involved in a verbal dispute with” Scott, according to NBC News.The rapper – real name Jacques Bermon Webster II – allegedly escalated the situation with a sound engineer “into a physical altercation”, and “punched the victim with a closed fist on the left side of the face”.Scott was also accused of causing about $12,000 (£9,853) worth of damage to a speaker and video screen.The rapper had performed a DJ set at a concert afterparty for labelmate Don Toliver.In a statement to Entertainment Tonight from Scott’s lawyer, Mitchell Schuster, he described the situation as a “misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation,”adding “we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing”.Ritchie Romero, managing partner of Club Nebula, said in a statement: “This is blown completely out of proportion.
