Coronation Street star and comedian Duggie Brown has died at the age of 82.The national treasure was seen on the soap playing the role of Ted Spear at the beginning of the year. His character Ted was involved in a car collision after Faye Windass (played by Ellie Leach) hit him with her car while after leaving a New Year's Eve party. At first, it appeared that Ted was in a stable condition after the crash as he was able to make it back to his flat, but later was found Ted dead in his armchair by Faye and Emma (Alexandra Marsdell).

The Pogues’ bass player Darryl Hunt has died aged 72.The punk group said on Twitter they were “saddened beyond words” to share the news that Hunt had died on Monday afternoon in London. Posting a black and white photo of Hunt holding a guitar case, they paid tribute by quoting the lyrics of their song Love You ‘Till The End, which was written by the bassist.They quoted: “I know you want to hear me catch my breath / I love you till the end.” The musician and songwriter was born in Hampshire, England on May 4 1950. Police have named a nine-year-old girl who died from a suspected stab wound in Boston, Lincolnshire. Lilia Valutyte was found at the scene in Fountain Lane at around 6.20pm on Thursday (July 28), Lincolnshire Police said.
