EastEnders was completely snubbed as the BBC One soap failed to win any awards while Coronation Street was named Best Serial Drama. Ant and Dec made history as they won the award for Best TV presenters for 20 years in a row.
This year, the BBC and ITV will go head-to-head in a number of the awards for shows including Strictly Come Dancing and Britain's Got Talent, and EastEnders and Corrie are both nominated for the Serial Drama category along with Neighbours and Emmerdale. STV's entertainment reporter Laura Boyd has been crowned Influencer of The Year for 2022/2023.
EastEnders and Emmerdale dominate the winners (winning five and four awards respectively), with EastEnders' Lacey Turner scooping the All-Time Icon award, while her onscreen mother Gillian Wright was awarded Best Actress. Elsewhere, Neighbours bowed out after 37 years with a final two accolades following its axe, bagging the Best Daytime Star for Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson) and Best Daytime Soap. Lacey who portrays Stacey Slater in the BBC soap looked delighted as she posed with her prize, her seventh Inside Soap Award she's collected over the years.
The Inside Soap Awards returned this evening, and for the first time in two years, they weren't virtual, as organisers threw a star-studded event to mark 30 years of the hit magazine. A whole host of stars from soapland bagged some of the coveted gongs, with Best Actress being won by EastEnders' Gillian Taylforth and Best Actor scooped by Emmerdale's Mark Charnock, whose character Marlon's stroke plot also won Best Storyline.
TikTok star with his sweet videos tracking trains and now Francis Bourgeois has been given his own show. The train enthusiast is set to host a five-part digital series for Channel 4 called Trainspotting with Francis Bourgeois. In it, he will tour the United Kingdom to demystify the hobby of trainspotting, where he’ll also be joined by a celebrity who will no doubt get a detailed run down of the make, model and importance of the train they watch pass by.
