A grandmother is devastated after missing out on her £1,200 holiday to Spain after her flight was delayed for 13 hours. Lesley Horner, 62, arrived at the airport early for her flight to Palma in Majorca and was expecting to arrive at her final destination Cala D'or on the island in time for lunch.
But on checking in at Doncaster airport, she was told her flight had been pushed back 13 hours and she wouldn't get to the resort until 9pm in the evening. After waiting five hours in the uncomfortable airport lounge, she decided she couldn't take it anymore and left the airport - walking away from her holiday, as reported by the LiverpoolEcho.
Travel provider TUI said the delay was due to a technical fault with the plane and whilst they had hoped to put affected passengers up in a local hotel, they were unable to find one suitable. With this in mind, they asked passengers to go home and return to the airport later in the day or to stay in the airport until the flight.

On the way out, the terminal was full of people – I just looked the other way and thought ‘I’ve got to get out of here.”
Lesley, who is from Brighouse in West Yorkshire, booked the last-minute break holiday on May 5 and had planned on spending 10 days in Cala D'or. She arrived at Doncaster Airport at 4am on Wednesday, May 11 and her flight was due to depart at 6.15am.
But it wasn't until after she'd checked in that
