A mum has hit out after her son went 'without his lunch' because she was in debt on her school meal account.
The parent, who wished to remain anonymous, said her son was left "humiliated" at Bramall High School, Stockport.
Staff refused to serve him a plate of pasta after his account, used to help families with a lesser income to assist with subsidised meals, was £4.05 in debt.

The incident has raised concerns as to what happened with the food he had already chosen, and what would have happened if she was in more debt.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, she said she initially got an email from the school on Monday morning to say she was just £1.70 in debt but didn’t have a chance to do it before her son went to school.
“I work six days a week and I just didn’t have a chance to do it,” she said.
“He got to school in the morning and had a sausage barm and a drink and that pushed it into more debt.
“Anyway, at lunchtime he got to the till, he had picked his pasta and put it on the tray.
“She then said ‘you're in debt’ then went off to speak to someone else about what they should do, then came back and said no to him having the food as he’d not paid.”
She added that he was offered a sandwich but he declined as he doesn't eat butter.
Her son said this ‘happened a lot’ with other students in a similar situation if their accounts went into debit.
She said the incident has raised some
