Reporting to Sony Music Group Chairman Rob Stringer, she will begin her new role in September.Based in Sydney, Picken will oversee all operations, artist signings, marketing, and business partnerships for the company, according to the announcement.

Arctic Monkeys, My Chemical Romance, Miley Cyrus and more have been announced on the line-up for this year’s edition of Mexico’s Corona Capital festival.The festival will run for three days across November 18-20, taking place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez race track in Mexico City. The event, which typically features alternative and rock acts, also counts Paramore, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Two Door Cinema Club and Liam Gallagher among its 85 acts.Elsewhere, on the pop front, the festival will welcome Lil Nas X, Remi Wolf and The 1975, while The Kooks, Jamie XX, Foals and IDLES will further represent the UK.

Kehlani has extended their ‘Blue Water Road Trip’ world tour to include dates in Australia and New Zealand.Celebrating the release of their latest album, ‘Blue Water Road’, the NME cover star will venture to the southern hemisphere next January. Kicking off their tour in Auckland, New Zealand, the R&B star will then head to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, wrapping up in the lattermost city on January 31.

San Francisco Pride organisers have been told by the city’s Democratic Mayor London Breed that she will boycott the annual Pride parade, if police officers are not allowed to march  in uniform. Police presence in pride marches have been a contentious issue across the world, including in Australia. In 2020, in the wake of protests over the murder of George Floyd, SF Pride organisers had banned the police from marching in the parade in uniform.

Aldous Harding has announced a return to Australia as part of her world tour in support of her latest studio album, ‘Warm Chris’.The shows, announced today (May 19), will mark Harding’s first tour of Australia in nearly three years. The New Zealand-born and Wales-based singer-songwriter was one of the very last international artists to perform in Australia prior to the COVID-19 lockdowns, in late February and early March 2020.Harding will perform four shows while in Australia over mid-to-late October.

A24 and Plan B Entertainment are teaming again for “Wizards!,” the new film from acclaimed Australian writer and director David Michôd (“The King,” “Animal Kingdom”), which has Pete Davidson, Franz Rogowski, Naomi Scott and Sean Harris set to star, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.The screenplay is written by David Michôd, based on a story by Joel Edgerton and David Michôd.Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B Entertainment will produce the film alongside Liz Watts.“Wizards! centers on two hapless pothead beach-bar operators played by Davidson and Rogowski, who run into trouble when they stumble across stolen loot that they really should have just left alone.“Wizards!’ marks the fourth collaboration between A24 and Plan B Entertainment following films as “Moonlight,” “Minari” and “The Last Black Man” in San Francisco.
