GAC Family has set When Hope Calls: Hearties Christmas Present, billed as a “surprise one-hour original special,” to air Sunday, December 12 at 10 pm ET. It will immediately follow the world premiere of previously announced A Christmas Star, movie starring Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) and When Calls the Heart‘s Daniel Lissing.

The film – based on the 2001 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed by Sara Gay Forden – peeks inside the life of the infamous Gucci family and how one ambitious woman triggers a spiral of betrayal, revenge and murder.

The Gucci family is not pleased with the depiction of their relatives in the new film " House of Gucci." In a statement issued this week, they said the narrative is "anything but accurate" and that the filmmakers did not consult them at all. The Guccis, who have no association anymore with the global luxury brand bearing their name, have been concerned about the Ridley Scott film from the beginning.

Salma Hayek is still promoting her new movie "House of Gucci" despite just finishing a worldwide press tour.  The 55-year-actress posted a photo of herself on social media in a luxurious pool donning an original Gucci black swimsuit. "This is not my wardrobe for House Of Gucci but I highly recommend it anyway," Hayek captioned the sultry pic which highlighted her ample cleavage.

In a statement sent to Italian news agency ANSA Monday, the family said the film falsely portrayed the Guccis as “hooligans,” who were “ignorant and insensitive to the world that surrounded them.” The statement also leveled criticism at Lady Gaga’s portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani, who served 16 years in prison for ordering the murder of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, played in the film by Adam Driver.
