Speaking with our sister paper, the Daily Record, Veronica's daughter Holly Feehan, 28, has told of the family's shock at what has happened to their "fit and healthy" mum.

A fundraiser has now been launched to support the hard-working mum to 'get back on her feet' as doctors tell the family it could be months or even years before she recovers. A message on the fundraiser read: "Veronica is a very much loved mum, grandmother and friend and has worked hard all her days."She has supported her four children and she is very much an independent woman.

McDonald's employee allegedly left a homeless man 'in tears' when he reportedly poured Coca Cola juice on him outside a branch of the fast food establishment. The alleged incident occurred next to a McDonald's drive-through on the morning of September 21.
