A mum has been left feeling furious after her husband left her with their children on Christmas day to go to work instead. The woman says she has been left baffled by her partner's decision as the family can 'cope' without the extra money, reports Hull Live.
She took to social media to gauge if her angry reaction to the bombshell news was justified or not as she explained he has agreed to work Christmas day, Boxing day and the day after. Posting on a popular parenting forum, she says the father has demanded they keep the noise down during the festive period as well, as he works nights.
She said: "My [other half] has offered to work over Christmas-that will mean me having the kids on my own Xmas Day/Boxing Day and the day after. He will be doing nights and will be sleeping all day so we will have to be quietish as well.
"WHY?! It will be a bit of extra money but we will cope without it. He is so money driven."
The mother's anguish over the situation was key to people quickly divulging their own thoughts on the situation. Many social media users felt the request to keep the noise down was unreasonable from her husband.
One person said: "It depends on the circumstances for sure, if you don't really need the money and there's no important reason for him to be at work then he maybe just doesn't prioritise or value time with you and your children. You shouldn't have to suppress the kids enjoyment of the holiday and make them keep quiet cos he is sleeping"
Whilst another agreed, stating: "Generally I would like to assume partners discuss this beforehand. He needs to understand it's Christmas so if the kids are noisier than usual it is to be expected.
