Girl You Know It’s True.Directed by Simon Verhoeven, Girl You Know It’s True follows the story of duo Fabrice Morvan and Rob Pilatus who, after achieving international success in the late 1980s as Milli Vanilli, were involved in a scandal when it was discovered they didn’t sing vocals on any of their songs.Newcomers Tijan Njie and Elan Ben Ali are set to portray Pilatus and Morvan respectively in the biopic, while Matthias Schweighöfer will play German music producer Frank Farian (pictured on Deadline).Other cast members include Graham Rogers as Milli Vanilli’s US assistant Todd and Bella Dayne as Milli, described as Farian’s right-hand woman. Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann serve as executive producers on the project.The film is named after the group’s 1989 debut album, which led them to win a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1990.

The organisers of Mr Gay World have announced that Mr Gay World 2022 will take place in Cape Town from 9 to 16 October 2022.
This will be the first time in three years that Mr Gay World will be presented as an in-person event. Delegates from around the globe will compete in the week-long contest with one being crowned Mr Gay World 2022.
The Grand Finale will be staged at the city’s Artscape Opera House on 15 October 2022.
This will be the seventh time that South Africa will host Mr Gay World, although two of these contests were hosted virtually by the South African organisers to accommodate Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
“We are so glad to be back doing the competition in person again, and there’s no better place to do it than my second home, South Africa,” said Eric Butter, Founder and President of Mr Gay World, in a statement.
The organisers said the selection once again of South Africa as the host nation is a testament to the success of previous South African events and the country’s unique attractions.
Jacques du Toit, newly appointed Mr Gay World Director Africa, commented: “Cape Town not only boasts its world-famous scenic and natural wonders but is also a city that embraces freedom in all spheres.”
He continued: “We look forward to welcoming delegates from around the world and giving them a platform in Cape Town to showcase their diversity, compassion, and their philanthropy. I know that this contest will be an experience that will shape their lives in many ways for years to come.”

Former Mr Gay World Louw Breytenbach Slapped With Gag Order
Mr Gay World Foundation has sued former winner Louw Breytenbach, asking him and his publicist to “retract and apologise” for allegedly defamatory comments they made last year. South African human rights activist and TV presenter Breytenbach, was the winner of the Mr Gay World 2021 title, but resigned two months into his reign citing “value differences”. In a statement released to local media Breytenbach’s lawyer Quintin Steyn confirmed the legal action launched by the organisation. Steyn revealed that he had submitted a supplementary affidavit on behalf of both Breytenbach and Prins.
