Bournemouth boss Scott Parker has confirmed that Morgan Rogers has returned to Manchester City — but remains technically on loan at the Cherries.
Rogers, 19, joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan in the summer, but found starts difficult to come by as Parker's men chase promotion to the Premier League. He's made just 17 appearances, with just three of those coming from the start and only four more totalling cameos of more than 15 minutes.
In all, he's averaged just 17 minutes per outing for Bournemouth, and in January he was omitted from their 25-man Championship squad — meaning he cannot play for them for the remainder of the season. Bournemouth have an option to purchase Rogers from City for £9m at the end of the season, but that looks unlikely.

Rogers was close to sealing a new loan move in January, but couldn't finalise a deal and was left in limbo as he remained a Bournemouth player but wasn't eligible to play for them. Now, Parker has confirmed Bournemouth have come to an agreement with City that will see him return to the City Football Academy to train with the Blues.
Parker said: "He's gone back to Manchester City. So we've come to an agreement with Manchester City for Morgan.
"He's gone back there and he's back in training with them. That is where Morgan is."
Last month, Parker explained the situation with Rogers in more detail, saying: "Morgan won’t be in the 25-man squad. Morgan knew that. For one reason or another, Morgan and his people didn’t seem to be able to get a deal done in the window.
