Molly-Mae Hague has revealed she was rejected by ITV bosses to go on the hit dating programme Love Island a year before she actually entered the villa. The 23 year old, who recently shared a peak inside her lavish living room in her new £3m mansion, appeared in the 2019 series of the show, where she met the love of her life Tommy Fury, also 23. In her new book Becoming Molly-Mae, she confessed that it was actually her second attempt to secure a spot on the show, which she credits her abilities of manifestation for.
In an extract obtained by new! magazine, she said: "I just had this overwhelming feeling of I'm going to be on this show. She went on to write in her book that she was left unamused when asked to appear in the 2019 series as a bombshell rather than one of the original contestants.
Elsewhere in the book, Molly revealed that she almost didn't go on Love Island due to fearing it could damage her fan base, which was growing already. She wrote: "Things were going well for me business-wise: my Instagram was growing rapidly and organically.
"I knew that I could go on the show and potentially damage that – if you say something wrong, you could ruin your reputation, so, it was a lot to think about." She added: "A lot of people were saying to me, You don't really need it. You can do this without it.
I listened to all that… and decided that I’d do it anyway!" Become an OK! VIP and see all our exclusives - for free! Become an OK! VIP and you will unlock access to all of our big exclusives... Be the first to meet
