MJ Williams believes Bolton Wanderers must back themselves in the big games next season as they aim to compete for the upper echelons of League One.
Wanderers recently completed their League One campaign and finished ninth in their first campaign back in the division since 2020.
Williams, 26, played 44 times in all competitions for Wanderers in the season which has just concluded for the University of Bolton Stadium club, which included him scoring his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Wanderers have had a successful first campaign back in the third tier of English football with a top 10 finish and a tally of 73 points, which in seasons gone by would have had Ian Evatt's side in and around the mix for the play-offs.
As was the standard being so high in League One this season, Wanderers were 10 points from the top six and Williams feels the encounters against the big sides in the division and having the belief in those games will be key to competing at the top next season.
He said: "On Saturday (in the 4-2 win over Fleetwood Town) you could see when we scoring goals, we were all celebrating together, the fans were right behind us now and that's the main thing.
"We've just got to keep together and all the lads have said that next season is going to be a massive one for us because this season we probably showed what a good team we are, but it's just consistency now of getting results. Go into the big games knowing how good we are and I'm sure we'll be right there.
"We finished ninth this season and probably the points that we got would probably get you in the play-offs in most
