Henry McNeill left his home in the Innellan area of the town of Dunoon, Argyll and Bute at around 5am on Sunday, December 18, but has not been seen or heard from since.
The 80-year-old was driving his green VW Passat car, registration AD59 UTL, and went in the direction of the A83. His family say he often goes for a drive but is never normally away from home for more than two hours.
In the wake of Henry's disappearance, a search bid has been launched, and officers are asking for the public's help as part of their ongoing efforts to trace him. People are being urged to check sheds and outhouses in particular.
Henry is described as around 6ft 2ins, of slim build with white, balding hair. He was wearing a green coloured jacket, navy blue baseball cap, blue denim jeans and grey trainers when he vanished. Sergeant Graham O’Donnell said: “Henry often goes for a drive in his car but is usually never away from home for more than a couple of hours.
“Concerns are growing for his welfare and that he may have become disorientated and lost his way. Henry has connections in Kirn.
“I am asking anyone who has seen Henry or his car to get in touch with police immediately. Please also check sheds and outhouses in case he has left his car and sought shelter.”
Anyone who has seen Henry or knows where he might be should call officers via 101, quoting reference number 2119 of Sunday, 18 December, 2022.
