Marcus Rashford's late winner against West Ham keeps Manchester United 'in the hunt' for the top four, according to former striker Michael Owen.
Saturday's clash with David Moyes' Hammers looked destined to end in a stalemate until Ralf Rangnick's substitutions made all the difference.
Deep into stoppage time Anthony Martial released Edinson Cavani on the left hand side to cross for Rashford who tapped the ball home for a huge three points for United.
Wild celebrations erupted both before and after the goal was checked for offside by VAR.
Speaking to Premier League Productions about the importance of the result, former United player Owen said United need to overcome stiffer tests to prove their top four credentials under Rangnick.
He said: "Manchester United, in general, under Rangnick have played averagely and they've got a lot of good results.
"But when you break it down a little bit more in depth, they've had a really friendly run of games.
"There will be acid tests ahead against some of the big boys.
"West Ham, I thought, were going to give them a big challenge today [Saturday]. They did. They'll be very frustrated that they didn't take anything out of the game.
"But, as they say, results are the most important thing and that keeps them right in there in the hunt for the top four."
United now occupy fourth place in the Premier League table having leapfrogged West Ham and with Arsenal and Tottenham dropping points on Sunday.
