Michael Owen explains why Erik ten Hag would be 'fantastic' for Manchester United

Former striker Michael Owen believes Erik ten Hag would bring the structure that Manchester United are desperately in need of if he was to be appointed the club's next manager.
The Ajax head coach, along with Paris Saint-Germain chief Mauricio Pochettino, has been installed as one of the frontrunners to replace Ralf Rangnick and become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent successor.
United, who plan to have a new manager in place before the end of this season, are acutely aware of the job Ten Hag has done at Ajax over the last few years and he is a name that has proven to be immensely popular amongst the supporters, who believe he would bring the credentials that United have been lacking.
Renowned for sticking to his philosophy and ensuring that everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet, the fans believe Ten Hag is the right candidate to bring success back to Old Trafford.
And that is a view shared by former United man Owen, who has highlighted that the club needs to appoint a manager who "has got a structure," admitting that he believes Ten Hag would be a suitable choice.
"I think he'd be fantastic," Owen told BT Sport when asked if he thought Ten Hag would be a suitable appointment for United.
"I think Manchester United need someone that has got a structure – this is how we're going to play come rain or shine.
"I still watch Manchester United and I still haven't got a clue what they're trying to achieve. I just watch them and I'm left scratching my head after every single game.
"There is just something missing at Manchester United."
