Micah Richards has stated that there's only thing that will stop Manchester City winning the league.
Pep Guardiola's men have a 12-point lead atop of the Premier League table going into the international break, and remain strong favourite to win their second consecutive title.
Although stumbling today as they drew with Southampton, City will have a favourable run of fixtures in February as they hope to extend their lead at the top above Liverpool.
And whilst City legend Richards believes they're still firmly in the driving seat, he does foresee a way in which they let it slip and bring Liverpool back in to strong contention.
When asked what can stop City winning the league, Richards said: "Themselves. I think the standards have been so high.
"The likes of De Bruyne coming into his own now, had a couple injuries.
"Bernardo Silva’s took the reins, lifted them forward and pushed them, driven them to what they are. I can’t see anyone bridging that gap if I’m being totally honest.
"It’s just themselves. Don’t let the standards slip now.
"I know a lot of people say the title’s done, it’s not done. Liverpool will keep coming, Chelsea have had a little blip but they always believe that is can recover so I would say just themselves."
Going into February, Guardiola's men will be pleased with their season so far as they remain in the mix for the treble.
They'll face Fulham in the FA Cup and Sporting in the Champions League in February, putting them in good stead to compete in all three competitions in what could be a remarkable season.
